Her: Amma, do you know it’s romance day tomorrow?
Me: Pls call and ask appa what he’s doing about romancing me.
Her: Amma, erm, what are YOU doing about romancing appa?
I can’t seem to get the upper hand in any conversation with my kids these days!
Me: You need to do more around the house.
Her: I answer the phone… I answer the door…. I even answer you back amma!
– Says my pre teen with a mischievous gleam in her eyes.
Amma, if you quit when you are ahead, you will never win the race. You should quit when you are done.
– Says the kiddo when I advise her to quit while she was ahead in our argument.

Her: Amma, can I do this?
Me: We’ll see…
Her: Amma, you keep saying “we’ll see” whenever I ask anything. By “we’ll see” you obviously mean “no”, but you just don’t want to say it!
– Kiddo is wisening up to my tricks.
