We’ll see

Her: Amma, can I do this?

Me: We’ll see…

Her: Amma, you keep saying “we’ll see” whenever I ask anything. By “we’ll see” you obviously mean “no”, but you just don’t want to say it!

– Kiddo is wisening up to my tricks.

School trip

Me: Do you HAVE to go on the school trip?

Her: Of course, I do!

Me: But I’ll miss you sooo much. Why don’t I come with you?

Her: No amma, its only for kids. (*Eyes rolling*)

Me: Then why don’t you stay back with me…

Her: Amma, remember you already paid for it?

Me: Oh, forget that. What’ll I do without you for 3 days…

Her: Amma, I think it’ll do me good to spend some time away from you!

– He he he, it’s fun to have fun, especially if it’s at your 8 year old’s expense 😉

Manners

The best way to spread something is to use your fingers.

– Says my 8 year old as she gleefully plunges her hands into Nutella.

Note to self: Tuck away the lecture on table manners for another day, or err, year.

Buy one, get one free

She’s buying you the dress, but it comes with a free lecture!

– Warns the older kiddo about mommy, as the younger one picks an expensive dress for herself.

Beginning of the end

Heard on the news: This verdict means that people will get the confidence that we can fight corruption, that too in high places.

Kiddo: Or maybe, it means that people will now lose all confidence in their political leaders.

– And so it begins, the end of innocence.
